Russia’s Andrey Rublev mentioned he was getting some dangerous feedback on-line due to the state of affairs in Ukraine.
“In these moments you realise that my match isn’t necessary. It is not about my match, the way it impacts me. What’s occurring is far more horrible,” Rublev mentioned after his victory over American Mackenzie McDonald on the Dubai Championships late on Thursday.
“You realise how necessary (it) is to have peace on the planet and to respect one another it doesn’t matter what, to be united. It is about that. We should always deal with our earth and of one another. That is crucial factor.”
World No 7, Rublev paired up with Ukrainian Denys Molchanov to win a doubles title in Marseille final week.
He has been vocally selling peace on his social media since Russia declared struggle on Ukraine on Thursday.
