Myanmar’s Civilian Government Claims 1,128 Attacks in Yangon

The Yangon Area Navy Command, an armed wing of the shadow Nationwide Unity Authorities, says it has efficiently accomplished its first anti-regime operation with 1,128 assaults on junta targets within the area over the previous seven months.

Launched after the NUG declared battle in opposition to the navy junta final September, Operation Pyan Hlwar Aung or “Victorious Swallow” has been finishing up guerilla assaults in Yangon.

The regional command mentioned in a press release on Thursday night that in the course of the seven months of the operation, it attacked 443 administrative and 587 navy targets and 98 military-owned companies, killing 253 enemies and injuring practically 300.

The assaults included lethal assaults on Yangon checkpoints, patrols and junta residences.

It claimed accountability for the assault on Daw Than Than Swe, deputy governor of the junta-controlled Central Financial institution of Myanmar, on Thursday morning, saying it was the final Pyan Hlwar Aung assault.

The best-ranking regime official to be attacked, Daw Than Than Swe was shot 5 instances on her doorstep and it’s unclear if she survived.

A second navy operation has already been launched “to proceed the continuing revolution to uproot the navy dictatorship”, the assertion learn.

In response to the Pyan Hlwar Aung assaults, junta outposts have been bolstered with sandbags and concrete obstacles.

In late January, the junta handed down dying penalties to jailed veteran democracy activist Ko Jimmy, also called Kyaw Min Yu, and former Nationwide League for Democracy lawmaker Ko Phyo Zeyar Thaw, who had been accused of masterminding assaults in Yangon.

A junta video confirmed Ko Phyo Zeyar Thaw admitting he helped with logistics and the distribution of weapons and ammunition for Operation Pyan Hlwar Aung. The junta additionally alleged Ko Jimmy headed an city guerrilla drive.
