Mariupol, which has been encircled by Russian troops for weeks, has seen the fiercest preventing and most complete destruction since Russia despatched troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24.
Ukrainian authorities stated on Monday that no fewer than 1,000 civilians have been hiding in underground shelters beneath the huge Azovstal plant, including that Russia was dropping heavy bombs onto the Ukrainian-held manufacturing unit within the besieged metropolis.
Russia’s defence ministry on Tuesday issued a press release calling on Ukrainian forces and overseas fighters inside to give up.
“All who lay down their arms are assured to stay alive,” the defence ministry stated.
It referred to as on troops to withdraw from the metal plant between 1400 and 1600 Moscow time “with out exception, with none weapons and with out ammunition”.
Earlier on Tuesday, Russia-backed separatist forces stated they have been attempting to storm the Azovstal metal works and take management of it as shortly as potential.
