Nice Omari Mosque
The Nice Omari Mosque is the biggest and oldest mosque in Gaza. Positioned in Gaza’s Previous Metropolis, the mosque is especially well-known for its minaret, which is octagonal on high and square-shaped on the backside, typical of the Mamluk architectural model.
Sayed al-Hashim Mosque
Sayed al-Hashim Mosque, or just Hashim Mosque, can also be positioned in Gaza’s Previous Metropolis. It incorporates the tomb of Hashim ibn Abd Al-Manaf, the great-grandfather of Prophet Mohammed, which is positioned beneath the dome of the mosque.
The Martyrs Mosque
The Martyrs Mosque, previously generally known as al-Qassam Mosque, is positioned within the Nuseirat refugee camp. It was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike in 2014. The bombs killed a number of Palestinians and wounded others. It destroyed the mosque fully, apart from a single minaret that remained standing. It was later rebuilt by the residents of the refugee camp.
