As gas shortages worsen, the Lao State Gas Enterprise has signed a purchase order settlement with an oil refinery in Xieng Khouang.
Mr. Sisangkhom Khotyotha, Director of the Lao State Gas Enterprise, and Mr. Somvang Khulurat, Director of the Yodngeum Energy Combine Gas Manufacturing facility, signed the acquisition settlement yesterday within the presence of provincial officers.
In line with Mr. Somvang, the refinery in Pek District, Xieng Khouang Province, produces 10 million liters of diesel per thirty days and might produce as much as 30 million liters as if needed.
He said that the refined petroleum merchandise will probably be prepared for distribution by the tip of Could.
As a substitute of importing from Thailand, the manufacturing facility has been buying crude and refined oil from Nghi Son Refinery in Vietnam, which is just 318 kilometers away.
“Oil will probably be saved in Luang Prabang earlier than distribution to the northern provinces by Lao State Gas Enteprrise,” stated Mr Somvang.
“We plan to broaden into the central and southern provinces in September this yr,” he added.
The first oil refinery in Laos was inbuilt Saysettha Growth Zone in 2015 and started experimental gas manufacturing in November 2020.
