Vesak, the thrice-blessed day

Vesak Full Moon Poya day falls immediately. Buddhists all over the world commemorate the numerous occasions of Buddha’s start, enlightenment and passing away on Vesak Full Moon. Vesak Poya is critical for Sri Lanka because the Buddha visited Kelaniya on the invitation of Naga King Maniakkhika of Kelaniya. Sri Lankans rejoice Vesak with a lot pomp and pageantry whereas giving the foremost place to spiritual actions akin to Sil campaigns, Bodhi poojas, Dansalas, Bhakthi Gee, pandals and illuminated lanterns.
