Winona Afghan Support Network welcomes refugees with community event

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – A movie screening even in Winona helps welcome Afghan refugees to the neighborhood.

On the Winona Arts Middle on Saturday, 5 just lately resettled Afghan refugees spoke to attendees.

Two 20-minute movies have been screened. One was about immigrants being launched from ICE detention facilities and being reunited with their household, and the opposite was about an aspiring Arab-American comic discovering independence.
