Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday received the bypoll to the Champawat Meeting seat by greater than 55,000 votes.
He defeated Nirmala Gahtori of the Congress by 55,025 votes, election officers in Champawat stated.
Dhami needed to contest a bypoll from the seat to change into a member of the state Meeting, which was a constitutional requirement he wanted to fulfil inside six months of being sworn in because the chief minister.
He had misplaced from Khatima within the state meeting polls held in February.
