SINGAPORE: The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) plans to progressively resume its coaching in Brunei to pre-pandemic ranges from August, the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) stated on Saturday (Jul 16).
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited SAF troops in Temburong, Brunei on Friday afternoon, the ministry stated in a information launch.
Mr Lee was accompanied by Chief of Military Main-Normal David Neo they usually met with trainers from the Military.
In a Fb submit on Saturday, Mr Lee wrote: “Met a few of our NSFs (full-time nationwide servicemen) and regulars once I visited The Singapore Military personnel in Temburong.
“Glad that morale is excessive and that they’re wanting ahead to the resumption of coaching. Wishing them a significant and protected time in Brunei.”
MINDEF stated Singapore and Brunei have an in depth and long-standing defence relationship.
“Along with the dear jungle coaching which the SAF conducts in Brunei, the SAF and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces work together by way of frequent bilateral workout routines, skilled exchanges, visits and cross attendance of programs,” stated the Defence Ministry.
“These exchanges have enhanced the professionalism and strengthened the ties between the 2 armed forces.”
Earlier this 12 months, commanders of the Royal Brunei Navy, the Royal Brunei Air Pressure and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces made introductory visits to Singapore.
