The Supreme Courtroom has prolonged the worldwide journey ban imposed on Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Minister Basil Rajapaksa until the fifth of September.
The order was issued by a five-member Supreme Courtroom bench headed by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya this afternoon (10) stopping the group from leaving the nation with out courtroom’s permission.
A petition was filed looking for an order to impose a world journey ban on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa, former Governors of the Central Financial institution of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal and WD Lakshman and former Secretary to the Treasury SR Attygalle.
The petition filed by a number of factions together with the previous Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chandra Jayaratne claimed the group was chargeable for the monetary disaster within the nation.
