The feasibility examine and preliminary designs for Iraq’s dry canal venture will likely be offered within the fourth quarter by Italian engineering companies firm PEG, a spokesperson of Iraq’s Transport Ministry advised Zawya Initiatives.
Hussein Jalil Al-Khafajia quoted the Director Common of Common Firm for Ports of Iraq (GCPI) Farhan Al-Fartoosi as saying that PEG will current the feasibility examine and designs in October 2022.
The dry canal contains of a community of roads and railways linking Iraq’s Southern port of Al-Faw with Turkey.
Al-Khafajia stated PEG officers had made a technical presentation concerning the venture earlier than Al-Fartoosi, including that the street and railway routes might be amended to smoothen the implementation pathway for the venture.
He stated that Al-Faw Grand Port is predicted to obtain its first ship in 2025.
In July 2022, officers of Common Firm for Iraqi Railways (GCIR) and PEG had mentioned technical elements of the Dry Canal venture.
