Within the letter, Johnson and Hawley wrote that the DoD whistleblower alleged that greater than 300 people evacuated from Afghanistan “appeared on the DoD’s Biometrically Enabled Watchlist (BEWL),” an inventory that “identifies people whose biometrics have been collected and decided by analysts to be threats or potential threats to nationwide safety, together with identified suspected terrorists.”
“That is along with the reportedly 65 people who’re identified to have entered the nation with out ample vetting,” they wrote.

The DoD responded in a letter to the allegations by directing the Republican lawmakers to previous work that confirmed its thoroughness in vetting people from Afghanistan.
