Khleang Huot, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, issued a name for the residents of the capital to affix the authorities’ efforts to crackdown on illegally operated pawnshops.
Huot made the plea through his Fb web page in a submit launched yesterday morning. In his submit, the Deputy Governor acknowledged that these pawnshops cost unlawful excessive rates of interest and settle for funds with out paying taxes.

In a Khmertimes article launched on 25 September, the Phnom Penh authorities have seized 1,113 bikes, 14 vehicles and 21 tuk-tuk within the operation, carried out over 5 days, to crackdown on pawnshops within the metropolis.
The Deputy Governor stated that the administration will proceed to raid and suppress the operations of pawnshops within the capital metropolis.
