Vande Bharat Express rams into cattle, suffers minor damage; 2nd incident in 2 days

Vande Bharat Categorical hit a cow close to Anand station in Gujarat on Friday, leading to minor injury to the prepare’s nostril panel. This was the second such incident in two days.

The prepare didn’t maintain any main injury within the collision.

By Milan Sharma: Vande Bharat Categorical, working between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar, rammed into cattle on Friday and suffered minor injury to its nostril panel. This comes a day after the newly-introduced semi-high velocity prepare suffered minor injury after colliding with a herd of buffaloes between Vatva and Maninagar stations in Gujarat.

On Friday, the Vande Bharat Categorical hit a cow close to Anand station in Gujarat, leading to minor injury to the prepare’s nostril panel. A railway official stated the semi-high velocity prepare didn’t maintain main injury within the newest incident besides a small dent on the nostril panel.

“A cattle run-over incident occurred with Vande Bharat prepare close to Anand in Vadodara division, whereby one cow was hit. Prepare was on its journey from Gandhinagar to Mumbai in the present day. Incident occurred at 3:44 pm and the prepare halted for about 10 minutes,” stated Sumit Thakur, CPRO, Western Railway.

“There was no injury to the prepare, besides a minor dent on the nostril cone cowl of the entrance coach. The prepare is working easily. This shall be attended to on the earliest,” he added.

An FIR has been registered in opposition to the cattle homeowners following the incident.

In the meantime, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that collision with cattle on tracks is unavoidable and this has been saved in thoughts whereas designing the semi-high velocity prepare.

The Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Categorical began its industrial run on October 1, a day after it was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat’s capital, Gandhinagar.
