Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne (twelfth October 2022) formally handed over the letter of appointment to Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne, who was appointed because the Deputy Chief of Workers of the Sri Lanka Navy, and expressed his greatest needs.
Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne is a proud product of Mahanama School, Colombo. He joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1987 as an Officer Cadet of sixteenth consumption, within the Government department. On profitable completion of his primary coaching from the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee, he was commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant in 1989. The senior officer has accomplished his Sub Lieutenant Technical Course on the Naval and Maritime Academy in 1990 and has specialised Lengthy Navigation and Instructions on the Navigation and Operations College, Pakistan Navy in 1999. Progressing steadily in his profession, the senior officer elevated to the rank of Rear Admiral on 07th August 2020.
Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne has commanded many ships, craft and shore institutions throughout his distinguished profession. Amongst different appoints he held, Deputy Director Naval Administration, Commodore Sea Coaching, Head of Naval Analysis Wing, Director Naval Coaching, Deputy Space Commander (East) and Port Facility Safety Officer (Trincomalee) Director Naval Welfare, Director Common Providers, Director Common Coaching and Commander Northwestern and Jap Naval Areas have been outstanding.
The senior officer was appointed Deputy Chief of Workers of Sri Lanka Navy with impact from twelfth October 2022, while he was holding the workplace as Commander Jap Naval Space.
