Malaysian police in Limbang, Sarawak are investigating a ship chase incident involving the Marine Police of the Royal Brunei Police Drive (RBPF) into Limbang waters on October 11.
The incident caught on video went viral on social media.
In response to a Malaysian report, the Marine Police personnel had chased a ship till it entered Limbang River. The boat, suspected of belonging to a Bruneian, was seized on suspicion of violating legal guidelines of each nations.
Limbang police chief Superintendent Parum Niot stated, “Limbang police seized a ship suspected of belonging to a Bruneian citizen who had fled.”
He added, “We’re conducting additional investigations relating to the case, which had gone viral and grabbed the eye of the individuals on this district.”
The Limbang police chief shared that the operation by the Brunei Marine Police was a direct motion to take care of the security and safety of each nations.
He stated cooperation between the police forces would proceed, stressing that Limbang police will take strict motion in opposition to these suspected of threatening nationwide safety.
