YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — On Sunday, the annual Laying of the Rose ceremony occurred at Federal Plaza in Youngstown.
The ceremony honors Mahoning County servicemembers who sacrificed their lives within the Vietnam Warfare. A tribute can be provided to prisoners of battle and those that are lacking in motion.
“It is a time that we get collectively and we simply let the entire world know that we’ll not neglect the sacrifice of our family members and our pals,” mentioned American Legion Publish 30 Commander Antonio Crespo.
Members of the family and veterans place a single rose subsequent to the memorial after the title of the fallen service member is learn aloud. Crespo mentioned it’s a day to be humble and keep in mind the sacrifices made in Vietnam, in addition to what their households endured.
