Xi congratulates International Bamboo and Rattan Organization on 25th anniversary

BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) — Chinese language President Xi Jinping despatched a congratulatory letter on Monday to the Celebration of Worldwide Bamboo and Rattan Group (INBAR)’s twenty fifth Anniversary and the Second World Bamboo and Rattan Congress.

Since its founding, the group has been dedicated to the safety, growth and utilization of bamboo and rattan assets, and has performed a constructive function in selling world ecological and environmental safety in addition to sustainable growth, Xi mentioned.

The Chinese language authorities and the group have joined fingers to implement the World Improvement Initiative and collectively launched the Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic Initiative to encourage nations to scale back plastic air pollution, reply to local weather change and speed up the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Improvement, he mentioned.

Xi pressured that China has been vigorously selling ecological progress and pursuing the event idea of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

China is prepared to proceed to work with all events to construct a neighborhood of life for man and nature and assemble a clear and exquisite homeland for future generations, Xi mentioned.

The Celebration of INBAR’s twenty fifth Anniversary and the Second World Bamboo and Rattan Congress, themed “Bamboo and Rattan — Nature-based Options for Sustainable Improvement,” opened in Beijing on Monday.

The occasion was co-hosted by the Nationwide Forestry and Grassland Administration of China and INBAR.
