The Gaza-based Anti-Normalisation Marketing campaign yesterday welcomed Lebanese tennis participant Mohamed Ataya’s choice to withdraw from the Cyprus Worldwide Championship in order to not face an Israeli opponent.
The organsiation mentioned the athlete’s withdrawal displays the rejection of the good Lebanese individuals, and all Arab peoples, to normalise with the Israeli occupation, and standing up towards the crimes dedicated by the Israeli occupation towards the defenseless Palestinian individuals.
It recommended the participant, saying he joined a protracted record of honourable heroes who refuse normalisation in response to the decision to boycott the Israeli occupation.
It referred to as on all Arab and Islamic our bodies and establishments to boycott the Israeli occupation in all arenas, with the intention of isolating it, till it respects the rights and calls for of the Palestinian individuals for liberation.
