Australia has introduced the appointment of Justin Whyatt as its new Ambassador to Cambodia, changing incumbent Pablo Kang.
In a press release, Australian International Minister Penny Wong mentioned: “At present I want to announce the appointment of Justin Whyatt because the Australian Ambassador to Cambodia.”
She added that “Cambodia is a vital companion within the area for Australia and a useful member of ASEAN and that this yr marks the seventieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two international locations. Whyatt has been a senior official on the Australian Ministry of International Affairs and Commerce and Assistant Secretary of State for Indo-Pacific Strategic Affairs and Regional Maritime Affairs, and has labored in Washington and Phnom Penh.
International Minister Penny Wong additionally thanked outgoing Ambassador Pablo Kang for his contribution to Australia’s pursuits in Cambodia since 2019.
