Afghan, Pakistani female entrepreneurs share experiences at exhibition

PESHAWAR    –    In a uncommon one-day workshop and exhibition right here on Thursday, Afghan ladies entre­preneurs and native feminine enterprise house owners shared their experiences.

The occasion for ladies Afghan refugee entrepreneurs was organised by the Sar­had Rural Assist Programme (SRSP) and the Girls’s Chamber of Commerce and Business (WCCI), with help from the UNHCR and the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees.

The occasion’s aim was to encourage col­laboration between Afghan refugee ladies entrepreneurs and native counterparts for long-term livelihood improvement.

The programme was attended by UNHCR provincial head Gayrat Ahmadshoev, Af­ghan refugees’ KP Commissioner Moham­mad Abbas, WCCI President Azra Jamshed, Financial institution of Khyber Managing Director Muham­mad Ali Gulfaraz, representatives of First Girls Financial institution, KP Board of Funding and Commerce, WCCI govt physique members, native communities, and Afghan refugees.

WCCI President Azra Jamshed spoke on the event, expressing hope that such occasions would bridge the hole between host communities and refugees, creating oppor­tunities for sustainable livelihoods.

Mohammad Abbas, KP Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, said that societies can obtain the true essence of social and eco­nomic improvement by permitting equal par­ticipation to ladies from all walks of life and lowering social obstacles that act as a glass ceiling.

Gayrat Ahmadshoev praised the WCCI’s position in selling ladies’s empowerment and inspired such wholesome occasions for the event of Afghan refugee ladies, as they confronted harsh realities of life and had been in determined want of all stakeholders’ help.

Throughout the occasion, the members, par­ticularly Afghan refugee ladies entre­preneurs, had been totally educated on the entrepreneurial mindset and enterprise modelling, monetary literacy, and the signif­icance of digital platforms in enterprise ex­pansion and improvement.

Along with orientation, the wom­en of profitable native entrepreneurship shared their experiences with Afghan ref­ugee ladies. Afghan ladies and native en­trepreneurs displayed their handmade merchandise on varied stalls, which included beautician-related objects, synthetic jewel­lery, handicrafts, residence textile merchandise, and stoneworks.

The entire dignitaries praised the merchandise. Syed Aftab Ahmad, the SRSP programme manager-operations, thanked all partici­pants, who obtained shields and certificates afterward.
