Chittoor district holds potential for large industrial development on a par with Sri Metropolis, because of its good street connectivity to main nationwide highways and six-lane express-ways connecting the area to Chennai and Bengaluru, mentioned Collector M. Hari Narayanan.
“Proposals for establishing industrial corridors are being readied, a few of that are with the State authorities for consideration. On this course, the District Headquarters Hospital in Chittoor could be developed into a better establishment in coordination with the Apollo Medical Faculty Hospital, he mentioned.
Chittoor district leads the State in the case of implementation of the housing scheme for the poor and downtrodden sections. “The Jagananna Pala Velluva scheme, launched within the western mandals, can be expanded to different components of the district to strengthen the dairy sector,” Mr. Hari Narayanan mentioned.
