A loud glashing drone might preserve bats away from wind generators, which kill thousands and thousands of the flying mammals every year.
“When individuals first began to note that animals have been getting hit by wind generators, the main focus was actually on birds,” says Yuval Werber on the College of Haifa in Israel. “It took a couple of years longer to know that bats have been getting hit, and through these few years a variety of wind farms have been being constructed.”
