(Yicai International) Dec. 14 — A unit of Energy Development Company of China, a state-owned infrastructure contractor also called PowerChina, will design and construct Laos’ first wind energy challenge for USD717 million.
PowerChina Worldwide Group will develop the 600-megawatt challenge within the southeast Asian nation’s Sekong and Attapeu provinces, its guardian agency mentioned yesterday. Development work will take 28 months.
PowerChina Worldwide is the world’s greatest electrical engineering contractor.
The electrical energy generated by the challenge shall be largely transmitted to Vietnam to ease a scarcity in that nation’s central area, Chinese language vitality information web site Cpnn reported.
