Giant portions of heroin and crystal methamphetamine prepared for smuggling out of Thailand had been seized in Samut Prakan and Bangkok on Monday and Tuesday.
Wichai Chaimongkol, secretary-general of the Workplace of the Narcotics Management Board (ONCB), mentioned the heroin seizure was made throughout an expanded operation after the Seaport Interdiction Activity Pressure (SITF) on Monday seized about 51 kilogrammes of crystal meth, or ice, hidden in a consignment of carpets being despatched to Hong Kong from the Port of Bangkok.
The consignment was despatched from a home in Samut Prakan, which was instantly positioned below shut watch by the ONCB.
About 6.35pm on Monday, a Chinese language man later recognized as Yong Ming Shi was seen leaving the home with two black backpacks. He was detained for questioning. The 2 backpacks held 13kg of heroin hid inside plastic-coated brochures for a housing mission.
Police searched the home and located 21g of crystal meth and a complete of 35kg of heroin in plastic baggage wrapped across the shafts of umbrellas, together with loads of packaging materials.
Officers subsequently searched the Chinese language suspect’s condominium room in Bangkok’s Huay Khwang district and located and seized 500,000 baht money and a financial institution passbook exhibiting 256,076 baht in deposits for additional examination.
About 10.30pm, a Thai man recognized solely as Navamin was detained when he arrived on the home in Samut Prakan on a bike. Investgators alleged he had been concerned in unlawful drug shipments.
On Tuesday, a search at a rented home in Bangkok’s Prawet district discovered about 30kg of heroin hidden in containers of canine pee pads.
