A bunch of scholars protested towards a lecture by a JNU professor on the campus of Bhubaneshwar’s Utkal College, for allegedly giving statements towards the Structure.
Professor Surajit Mazumdar was delivering a lecture throughout a seminar on ‘Indian Structure and schooling coverage’ organised by the Residents’ Discussion board, when a bunch of scholars from the ABVP opposed it and tried stopping the occasion, which triggered pressure on the campus.
There was a heated trade between organisers and college students, which led to a battle through which two individuals had been injured. Each side have lodged separate complaints at Saheed Nagar police station.
Based on sources, Residents’ Discussion board organised a seminar with a JNU professor as a visitor. Throughout the seminar, the professor was delivering his speech, which didn’t go down properly with a piece of scholars current there.
Some pupil activists allegedly attacked the convener of the Residents’ Discussion board and a lecturer, and requested them to cease the programme. They alleged that “anti-national” remarks had been made through the speak.
“We won’t permit any such statements towards the nation. We are going to proceed to oppose such programmes in future,” a protesting pupil mentioned.
Residents’ Discussion board convener Pradipta Nayak lodged an FIR demanding stringent motion towards the protesters.
