Energy and Vitality Minister Kanchana Wijesekera stated yesterday that Cupboard approval was granted to award licenses to Sinopec, United Petroleum, Australia and RM Parks of the USA in a collaboration with Shell Plc to enter the Gasoline Retail Market in Sri Lanka.He talked about the above in a tweet.
The Vitality Committee and related different procurement committees had given their approval and advice to award the three firms the licenses to function.
The three firms will probably be allotted 150 Seller operated gas stations every that are at present operated by the CPC.
They are going to be granted a license to function for 20 years to import, retailer, distribute and promote petroleum merchandise in Sri Lanka.
“An extra 50 gas stations at new areas will probably be established by every chosen firm,” he added.
