Ministry of Culture encourages Trud dance to welcome Traditional New Year and to give blessings to people

The Ministry of Tradition stated that the standard Trud dance is a dance that represents the passing of the previous 12 months, ushering in of the brand new 12 months, eliminating dangerous incidents, and to provide blessings to the locals on the event of the New 12 months

The Ministry of Tradition and Superb Arts launched a movie explaining the essence of conventional dances on April 7. In line with the Ministry, the Trud dance is a heritage of the Samre folks, who’ve lived on the Cambodian land for a whole lot of years.

As defined by the Ministry of Tradition, the time period “Trud” is a Sanskrit phrase which means “disconnect” or “lower off,” alluding to the top of the 12 months or chopping off the previous 12 months into the brand new 12 months, and is called after a royal ritual known as Trisangkran which is practiced even in the present day.
