The Perahera of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone was colourfully held on the evening of 06th Might 2023.
Following the sensible counsel of Anunayake of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya, Venerable Dr Kirinde Assaji Thero and directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Buddhist Affiliation of the Sri Lanka Navy had made preparations in place for the profitable conduct of the colorful procession. The Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya is held as a part of the 2567th Anniversary of Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi.
Accordingly, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera positioned the Sacred Relic Casket, introduced in by a vibrant procession from Hunupitiya Gangaramaya, within the Seema Malaka of the temple. On the conclusion of the procession, Venerable Dr Kirinde Assaji Thero performed a sermon and appreciated the contribution of the Navy to uphold cultural and non secular occasions of the nation.
Together with Commander of the Navy, the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa, Director Normal Engineering and the President of Naval Buddhist Affiliation, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe in addition to a bunch of senior and junior officers from the Navy Headquarters and Western Naval Command visited the performances and ornamental parts on the Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone.
