Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa has been appointed to the publish of Air Drive Commander.
The President’s Secretary, Mr. Saman Ekanayake, handed over the appointment letter to AVM Rajapaksa on the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (28).
In recognition of his distinctive service and consistent with his new appointment because the Commander, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has promoted Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, to the rank of Air Marshal, efficient from tomorrow, the thirtieth.
Because the nineteenth Air Drive Commander of the nation, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa proudly represents his alma mater, Ananda School, Colombo, being the primary Air Drive Commander to be appointed from Ananda School.
His journey started in 1988 when he joined the Kotalawala Defence School as a cadet, and subsequently, he excelled in flight coaching on the Anuradhapura Camp No. 01, reaching the excellence of being the very best cadet within the thirty third Air Cadet Course.
With a mix of native and overseas coaching, he demonstrated excellent efficiency as a flight officer. Previous to his present appointment, he held the second place of command inside the Air Drive, because the Chief of Employees, and now assumes the celebrated position of Air Drive Commander.
