KUALA LUMPUR, August 2 — A police investigation towards a lady concerning an edited video clip of Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah endorsing a political occasion within the ongoing state election marketing campaign has been categorized as a race, faith and royalty (3R) case.
Inspector-Common of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain informed Sinar Harian that investigators have taken the girl’s assertion yesterday on the Cyberjaya police station.
“To date, police have recorded her assertion and no arrests have been made.
“The opportunity of the 46-year-old girl being known as again will rely on the investigation.
“That is categorized as a 3R case in relation to sentiments on royalty,” Razarudin was quoted saying within the Malay every day at this time.
It was reported yesterday that the girl appeared at Cyberjaya police station to offer her assertion.
Sinar Harian additionally quoted Razarudin as saying that the case is investigated beneath Part 505 of the Penal Code for statements that result in public alarm and misery, and Part 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of community services or community service.
He added that the case may also be investigated beneath the Sedition Act 1948.
Razarudin confirmed that 24 police experiences have been lodged over the case.
