Former military chief and present head of the Islamic Army Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Normal (retd) Raheel Sharif has been honoured with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by Authorities Faculty College (GCU), Lahore.
The award was offered by Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi, the Vice-Chancellor of GC College Lahore to the previous military chief. Addressing the scholars, Normal Sharif confused upon the worth of three pillars in a single’s life – character, braveness, and competence.
Dr Zaidi praised Normal Sharif, noting that he was a shining instance of a pupil who made his alma mater proud.
Reflecting on his life and experiences, Normal Sharif shared tales of his household’s deep-rooted reference to the GC College. He advised about his older brother, Main Shabbir Sharif, a soldier remembered for his braveness and sacrifice. Normal Sharif’s contributions to the combat in opposition to terrorism had been highlighted on the occasion.
Serving because the nation’s ninth Chief of Military Workers (COAS) from 2013 to 2016, he led main anti-terrorism operations, together with Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan, which worn out terrorists, thereby stabilizing the nation.
