NEW DELHI: Former President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday stated that the primary assembly of ‘One Nation, One Election‘ committee will happen on September 23.
Earlier, the Centre notified an eight-member high-level committee to look at the feasibility of holding simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities in addition to panchayats and make suggestions for a similar.
The panel is headed by Ram Nath Kovind. It’s going to have house minister Amit Shah, former chief of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, former finance fee chairman N Ok Singh, former Lok Sabha secretary normal Subhash C Kashyap, senior advocate Harish Salve and former Chief Vigilance Commissioner Sanjay Kothari as members.
