Dharamshala: The Geneva Discussion board 2023, collectively organised by the Division of Data and Worldwide Relations (DIIR) and the Tibet Bureau Geneva, concluded on 27 October 2023.
The concluding session was chaired by Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma of the Division of Data and Worldwide Relations-CTA and Nicole Su, Director Normal of the Taipei Cultural and Financial Delegation in Geneva.
Tibetan MP Thupten Gyatso from Europe, Consultant Sonam Tsering Frasi of Workplace of Tibet in London, Consultant Rigzin Choedon Genkhang of the Workplace of Tibet in Brussels, DIIR Further Secretaries Tenzin Lekshey and Namgyal Tsewang, audio system, Tibet supporters, members of the native Tibetan affiliation, and different attendees participated within the discussions.
Throughout the first session entitled “Human Rights Decline : Areas Underneath China”, Rushan Abbas, founder and govt director of the nonprofit Marketing campaign for Uyghurs; Dugarjab L. Hotala, Founder & Director of InterMongol Community; Dr. Xiao Qiang, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of China Digital Instances; and Tenzin Dawa, Government Director of Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy mentioned the standing of human rights in areas beneath the PRC rule.
The second session entitled “Silencing Voices: China’s Assimilationist Coverage and Crackdown on Defenders” was panelled by Benedict Rogers, Co-founder and CEO of Hong Kong Watch; Dr. Emile Dirks, Analysis Affiliate at Citizen Lab; and Lhadon Tethong, Director of the Tibet Motion Institute.
The third-panel session on the theme “Improvement or Neo-Colonization? Tibet and Areas beneath China” was presided over by Professor Dibyesh Anand, Head of the College of Social Science on the College of Westminster; Dr. Martin Mills, Director of the Scottish Centre for Himalayan Analysis; and Dr. Gyal Lo, a Tibetan activist and Instructional Sociologist.
The audio system of the fourth-panel session on the theme “China’s International Footprints: Surveillance and Transnational Repression” included Yaqiu Wang, Analysis Director for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Freedom Home; Josh Rogin, International Coverage Columnist at The Washington Put up; and Dr Tenzin Lhadon, Analysis Fellow at Tibet Coverage Institute.
The fifth Geneva Discussion board was held for 2 days from 26-27 October 2023.
