MANILA, Philippines — Violent and different incidents believed to be related to the 2023 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on Monday climbed to 39, the Philippine Nationwide Police (PNP) stated on Tuesday.
In the meantime, the variety of validated election-related incidents stays at 35, in line with PNP knowledge.
PNP spokesperson and Public Info Workplace chief Col. Jean Fajardo reported that the suspected election-related incidents have been monitored from 12 a.m. on October 30 till 12 a.m. on October 31.
Two of the suspected circumstances have been reported in Metro Manila, one every in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Central Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Cordillera Administrative Area, six in Calabarzon, two every in Mimaropa, Bicol area, Western Visayas, and Jap Visayas.
The reported incidents are taking pictures incidents, violation of the Omnibus Election Code, suicide, poll snatching, grave risk, hacking, harassment, gentle threats, malicious mischief, mauling, bodily accidents, unjust vexation, unlawful campaigning and vote-buying or promoting.
Of the 39 suspected circumstances, two occurred in barangays beneath the crimson class or areas of grave concern; one other two occurred in locations beneath orange class (critical threats from native armed teams and communist terrorist organizations) seven beneath the yellow class ( with recorded election-related incidents in the course of the two earlier elections) and 28 beneath inexperienced class (protected from any safety threats.)
