The CBI on Tuesday registered circumstances of corruption towards ten public servants posted on the parcel division and yard division of Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) station in Kurla. The officers stated searches have been performed at eight places after the circumstances have been registered on allegations of irregularities in dealing with parcels and facilitating placement of VPU Wagons on the Terminus.
The CBI officers stated that within the first case, two Chief Parcel Supervisors and two personal brokers have been booked for allegedly taking bribes frequently from personal loaders or lease holders in money or by means of UPI for extending favours to them.
Whereas within the second case, three Chief Yard Masters, three Deputy Station Managers (Yard) and two shunting masters have been booked.

“It was alleged that the general public servants of Central Railway posted on the yard division have been taking bribes from personal brokers within the type of money and in addition by means of UPI funds into the accounts of points-man posted within the yard. It was additional alleged that the bribes got for facilitating placement of VPU wagons on the Terminus,” stated a CBI official.
The official additional added that the accused obtained bribes from the brokers and in addition allegedly delivered a part of the bribe to their superiors.
The CBI officers performed searches at practically eight places in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and Nashik together with the residential premises of the accused following which incriminating paperwork and mobiles telephones have been seized.
