Bomb found in train at Karachi Cantt Station diffused

KARACHI: A bag containing an improvised explosive machine (IED) was recovered by the police from a practice on the Cantonment Railway Station within the port metropolis, Geo Information reported Saturday.

Police mentioned the bomb disposal unit reached the station after receiving details about the bomb in Awam Specific and defused it by a managed blast.

Based on regulation enforcement officers, the practice was arriving from Peshawar to Karachi on Friday and the bomb was hidden underneath a seat. 

Counter Terrorism Division (CTD) senior officer Raja Umar Khattab mentioned the try to sabotage may have been performed by a separatist group. Based on the bomb disposal unit, the explosive was present in a black and purple colored faculty bag.

Director Normal of Police (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza mentioned that the bomb, which weighed 5 kilograms, used 2kgs of explosives and was hooked up to a “time machine”, whereas a bike battery was used to detonate it.

Raza mentioned no case might be filed as of but and added that it is going to be registered on the Railway Police Cantt Station.

DIG Raza mentioned that the CCTV footage at totally different practice stations from Peshawar to Karachi is being obtained. He added that the railway employees was additionally being investigated.
