The Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries on Friday, January 12, 2024, issued a joint assertion on the short-term ban on the import of offal and frozen meat after a call from the Royal Authorities of Cambodia.
Based on the assertion, the suspension of imports of offal and frozen meat for six months shall be carried out from March 12 to September 12, 2024. Based on the declaration, this measure doesn’t apply to certified funding initiatives that import items to be used as manufacturing inputs for export.
The federal government’s determination comes after livestock farmers in Cambodia complained about falling costs and the shortcoming to compete with imported meat, forcing some farm homeowners to desert the availability of meat within the nation whereas fearful in regards to the unlawful import of frozen meat.
