Original CNIC mandatory for casting vote: ECP

Because the nation heads to the polls as we speak, the Election Fee of Pakistan (ECP) has issued vital directive, stressing the need of presenting the unique Computerised Nationwide Id Card (CNIC) for casting votes.

In a message to the general public, the ECP asserted that people should carry their authentic CNIC to the polling station on the election day, with no exceptions.

No different doc together with a replica of CNIC, passport and driving license could be acceptable for casting a vote.

The fee additional stated anybody having an expired CNIC can forged his/her votes.
