The Oman Journalists Affiliation (OJA), the official physique of journalists working within the Sultanate of Oman, held the elections for the Board of Administrators on Wednesday.
The wining panel, named Al Taawun, is led by Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak al Araimi, Chairman, and comprising Salim bin Hamad al Jahwari; Talib bin Saif al Dhabari; Khalfan bin Mentioned al Hasani, Mustafa bin Khamis al Maamari, Yousef bin Abdulkarim al Houti, Hamed bin Hamad al Qasmi, Abdullah bin Mentioned al Jahwari; Mentioned bin Nasser al Nahdi, Rashid bin Humaid al Rashidi, Zainab bint Khamis al Zadjaliyah and Ahmed bin Thabit al Mahrouqi made it to the board for the third time.
As many as 378 voters solid their ballots to elect one of many three factions that contested to the Board of Administrators of the Oman Journalists Affiliation (OJA). Nominations have been invited from incumbent members of the OJA on January 1 and will be submitted till January 20. Any nomination submitted after the indicated date won’t be thought-about.
Two panels, in addition to the current BoD, comprising 12 members every vied to the BoD to be chosen to be their representatives to the coveted positions of the apex physique of journalists to symbolize Oman media for the 12 months 2024 – 2026.
Hatim al Tai, Saif al Mahrouqi, Abdullah al Shueili, Zainab al Zadjali, Nabil al Hadi, Madrin al Maktoumi, Saleh al Balushi, Noah al Maamari, Khalifa al Rawahi, Hamad al Habsi, and Ahmed al Farsi made the second panel.

The OJA, with its 10 sub-committees specifically, Sports activities Media, Freedoms and Worldwide Relations, Photographers, Membership and Member Affairs, Advertising and marketing and Funding, Ladies Journalists Affairs, Public Relations and Occasions, Media and Tradition, Coaching and Qualification and Governorate Committee, holds membership in three worldwide committees.
The three essential worldwide committees during which OJA has membership are, Worldwide Journalists Affiliation (represented by Mubarak al Araimi), Asian Journalists Affiliation (represented by Salim al Jahwari), and Worldwide Gender federation in Worldwide Journalists Affiliation (represented by Zainab al Zadjali) Previous to the elections, the prevailing committee introduced a report on the efficiency of the Board, a draft work plan for the 12 months, the stability sheet and ultimate account for the ending fiscal 12 months and the challenge, new 12 months finances, auditor’s report and appointed the auditor in accordance with the Bylaw of the Committee for the present 12 months.
