Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Data Expertise, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), has opened the extra lanes on the Rusayl-Bidbid highway in direction of Nizwa.
Launched in 2020, the 27km Bidbid-Rusayl highway growth venture contains 4 lanes on either side, new flyovers, pedestrian underpasses and bridges, and rainwater drainage services.
The widening of the highway will ease visitors because the freeway (with extra lanes) may have the capability to deal with over 8,000 automobiles per hour from over 3,000 automobiles per hour.
The highway has been designed in line with all visitors security necessities with automobiles capable of function at a velocity of 120km/hour.
Two new intersections have been added together with one in Ghala to maintain tempo with inhabitants progress in these areas, particularly on the Ansab-Jifnain highway.
To facilitate the pedestrian crossing, the venture contains the growth of the underpasses and 4 new overbridges to serve the communities on each side of the highway.
