4 Samajwadi Occasion MLAs who cross-voted for the Bharatiya Janata Occasion within the February 27 Rajya Sabha elections have been allotted Y-category safety, a senior authorities official mentioned on Sunday.

He added that the 4 MLAs who acquired Y-category safety are Abhay Singh (Gosaiganj), Manoj Kumar Pandey (Unchahar), Rakesh Pratap Singh (Gauriganj) and Vinod Chaturvedi (Kalpi), respectively.
These 4 MLAs, alongside three different get together legislators — Pooja Pal, Rakesh Pandey and Ashutosh Maurya — had cross-voted for the BJP within the Rajya Sabha elections, resulting in saffron get together candidate Sanjay Seth defeating Samajwadi Occasion nominee Alok Ranjan.
Maharaji Prajapati, one other MLA, had abstained.
Rakesh Pandey is the daddy of MP Ritesh Pandey, who lately switched from the Bahujan Samaj Occasion to the BJP.
