Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Sunday prevented criticism of U.S. President Donald Trump’s army strikes on Venezuela and seize of the Latin American nation’s president, as Tokyo grapples with how to reply to a transfer broadly seen as having violated worldwide legislation.
“Japan has persistently revered basic values and rules comparable to freedom, democracy and the rule of legislation,” Takaichi stated in a publish on X, hours after different Group of Seven leaders weighed in.
“In response to the state of affairs in Venezuela, the Japanese authorities, below my path, is prioritizing the security of Japanese nationals above all else whereas intently coordinating with related nations,” she added.
