
Manama, Jan. 9 (BNA): The Bahrain Authority for Tradition and Antiquities (BACA) hosted the Gulf Archaeology Symposium, “Gulf Archaeological Heritage: Discovery and Preservation”, on 6–7 January 2026 on the Bahrain Nationwide Museum, with the participation of main researchers and specialists from GCC international locations, in cooperation with the GCC Common Secretariat.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, BACA President, stated the occasion displays Bahrain’s dedication to strengthening joint Gulf cooperation in archaeology, stressing that shared archaeological heritage is central to the collective cultural id of GCC states and highlighting the significance of such boards in advancing analysis and preservation efforts.
The opening session featured a keynote by Dr. Salman Ahmed Al Mahari, Director Common of Antiquities, who highlighted Bahrain’s method to managing and safeguarding archaeological websites and emphasised the function of regional and worldwide cooperation.
The symposium included specialised periods on latest archaeological discoveries, web site administration and conservation, and using digital applied sciences and synthetic intelligence in heritage documentation and preservation.
