
BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. Imports of
petroleum merchandise from Azerbaijan have damaged the decades-old
monopoly in Armenia’s gasoline sector, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol
Pashinyan said whereas addressing the European Parliament, Development studies.
“Armenia already imports petroleum merchandise from Azerbaijan,
which has helped cut back gasoline costs in our market and break
decades-old monopolies within the gasoline sector,” he mentioned.
The prime minister additionally expressed hope that Azerbaijan will
turn into an export vacation spot for Armenia within the close to future.
On December 18, 2025, the State Oil Firm of Azerbaijan
(SOCAR) despatched 1,220 tons of RON-95 gasoline to Armenia.
Subsequently, on January 9, 2026, a complete of two,698 tons of gasoline,
together with 1,742 tons of RON-95 gasoline and 956 tons of diesel,
have been dispatched in 48 railcars.
On January 11, a practice of 18 railcars carrying 979 tons of
RON-92 gasoline was additionally despatched to Armenia.
On February 25, 4,500 tons of diesel gasoline have been delivered, then
on March 5, 31 wagons with 1,984 tons of diesel gasoline.
