Château de Mseilha 🏰 Forteresse Croisée de Batroun | Liban-Nord

🏰 Le Château de Mseilha, trônant sur son pic rocheux, contrôle depuis des siècles la vallée du Nahr el-Jaouz, près de Batroun.

📜 Sa première point out remonte à 1106, attribuée à Guillaume de Farabel, connétable de Tripoli.

⚔️ Au 13e siècle, les Mamelouks reprennent le contrôle du château, avant que les Ottomans ne s’en emparent à leur tour au 16e siècle.

🏛️ Sa construction actuelle a été remaniée vers 1624 par l’Émir Fakhr-al-Din II, durant sa révolte contre la Elegant Porte ottomane.

🎯 Le château garde des éléments typiques de l’époque des Croisades, comme ses étroites fentes de tir.

🪜 Construit sur deux niveaux, on y accède aujourd’hui par une petite rampe menant à sa cour intérieure.

🗺️ Ce verrou stratégique permettait de surveiller le passage entre le Nord du Liban, Tripoli et Batroun, jusqu’à Byblos et Beyrouth.
