OSCE delivers fourth webinar on trends in contemporary policing for cadets in Uzbekistan

On 6 December, the OSCE Transnational Threats Division, in shut co-operation with the OSCE Venture Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, organized a fourth webinar for cadets and lecturers from the Academy of the Ministry of Inside Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. The aim of this initiative is to lift consciousness about key traits and developments in modern policing amongst college students and workers of the Academy.

The webinar was devoted to combating gender-based violence and advancing the significant participation of ladies in regulation enforcement. It was delivered by two consultants from the OSCE Transnational Threats Division. The presenters outlined the types of gender-based violence, in addition to the alternatives within the areas of multi-sectoral co-ordination, coaching of practitioners and consciousness elevating on the subject. Additionally they highlighted the significance to deal with gender inequality as one of many root causes of gender-based violence, and mentioned methods to advance the significant participation of ladies in any respect ranges of policing. The audio system introduced 4 flagship OSCE tasks that handle these subjects: Enhancing Legal Justice Capacities for Combating Gender-based Violence in Japanese Europe (2018-2020), South-Japanese Europe (2021-2024) and Advancing the Significant Participation of Girls in Regulation Enforcement in Montenegro (2020) and Uzbekistan (2022).

The occasion was attended by over 100 cadets and lecturers from the Academy, and is preceded by webinars on subjects similar to countering the usage of the Web for terrorist functions, cybercrime and cyber-enabled crime and intelligence-led policing.
