ST. PAUL— Gov. Tim Walz made a visit to Kuwait final week to go to Minnesota Nationwide Guard troops stationed there, the governor’s workplace stated in a launch Sunday, Dec. 11.
Walz met with members of the Minnesota Nationwide Guard’s 347th Regional Help Group (RSG) and members of the RSG’s 147th Human Sources Firm who’re serving overseas in the course of the vacation season.
“Whereas many Minnesotans will collect with household and mates this vacation season, there are lots of others who’ve chosen to sacrifice time with their family members to guard us,” Walz stated. “As a 24-year veteran of the Nationwide Guard, I do know what it’s prefer to be away from dwelling and household.”
The 347th RSG is predicated in Brooklyn Park and has been deployed to the Center East since April, the discharge stated, with 80 Nationwide Guard troops offering operations assist and facility administration. Twenty-five members of 147th HRC deployed in September.
Walz was joined by the Minnesota Nationwide Guard’s Adjutant Basic, Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke and the Guard’s Senior Enlisted Advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Stephen Whitehead.
