Challenge in collaboration with Halcyon Agri and Indonesian rubber processor Hok Tong
Kobe, Japan – Sumitomo Rubber Group has re-launched a pure rubber (NR) traceability mission in Jambi Province, Indonesia which come to a halt because of the Covid pandemic.
The “traceability and transparency pilot mission,” brings collectively the group’s NR procurement subsidiary Sumitomo Rubber Singapore, NR producer and distributor Halcyon Agri and Indonesia-based NR processor PT. Hok Tong.
Launched with preliminary help from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the pilot mission will primarily examine measures to enhance the traceability and transparency of NR.
Moreover, the initiative goals to enhance dwelling requirements for rubber farmers.
As a part of this, Sumitomo Rubber mentioned it’s working with Halcyon Agri to review farmers’ dwelling circumstances in addition to the distribution channels that they use to carry their product to market.
The mission can even contain providing farmers coaching programmes, free fertiliser and different types of help.
