Myanmar junta troops have torched six villages in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Area, and over 16,000 residents have been displaced, in accordance with resistance teams.
Troops torched Wa Yar and Ywar Thit villages on December 27 and Nagar Bo, Kone Thar, Taw Kyaung Lay and Htan Taw on Wednesday, resistance teams.
“Over 16,000 residents have fled their properties and have no idea what number of homes have been destroyed as a result of nobody is left within the villages,” stated Ko Pyan Hlwar of Chaung U Revolutionary Military (CRA).
Resistance teams attacked a Pyu Noticed Htee pro-junta militia camp in Kangyi Kone village and a police outpost in Ah Myint village on December 25.
The CRA), Monywa Individuals’s Protection Drive (PDF), Chaung-U Township Individuals’s Liberation Drive and different teams from Sagaing and Myingyan attacked the junta troops and militia members.
The junta responded with shelling after which began torching villages on December 27.
“After the resistance assault, round 150 troops and Pyu Noticed Htee militia members attacked the villages,” stated an Ah Myint villager.
Ten revolutionary fighters have been injured and 4 killed on Tuesday, in accordance with the resistance teams.
“We killed two troops and saved some civilian hostages. They retreated however torched villages as they left,” Ko Pyan Hlwar stated.
